VIDEO: Snakehips, Anne-Marie & Joey Bada$$ 'Either Way'

Snakehips deliver an unforgettable song with a perfectly paired video in 'Either Way'.  The duo masterfully deals in multiple down tempo genres, and frequently blur the boundaries between them.  They make it look so easy, and often bring along their talented friends like Anne-Marie and Joey Bada$$.  The video gives you a personal, intimate look at quiet, personal moments, and in them see beauty we often can't spot in our own lives.

VIDEO: Sweater Beats 'Glory Days' ft. Hayley Kiyoko

Sweater Beats released the karaoke themed video for his single 'Glory Days' with Hayley Kiyoko.  While Sweater Beats has been a favourite producer of ours for while, even before seeing him open for Nick Murphy (then performing as Chet Faker in Toronto.  With that in mind it comes as some suprise that this is his first music video, but he certainly uses this opportunity to do something poweful with it.  In his own words:

“Glory Days is my first music video ever, and the most important thing I wanted to push in the video was the presence of Asian artists, dancers, musicians and tastemakers. There aren’t a lot of videos like this, with an all-Asian cast, outside the K-pop and J-pop world. As an Asian artist, I feel like I have a responsibility to represent the community however I can. “ – Sweater Beats

Check out the video below, including appearances by Dumbfoundead, Far East Movement, The Kinjaz, Lydia Paek, and starring Kimi Singer as the karaoke girl.  It's the last single from the For The Cold EP.  You can get it here!

Beth Ditto: 'In And Out' Animated Lyric Video

Beth Ditto's song 'In and Out' comes from her album Fake Sugar.  It's her latest solo album, and the video is a beautiful animated compliment to the song.  Complete with the lyrics, the visual elements are not the first thing we'd dream up for this song but that's why it's so cool.  The sound of Beth Ditto defies classification based on era or genre.  The animated love story shows an unexpected level of what a universally relatable song 'In and Out' is.  With an unforgettable voice, and something timeless and mysterious about her, Beth Ditto is one of the coolest artists out there in this day and age. The video is produced by Digital Twigs and animated/illustrated by Forrest Norris III.
