Between The Lines: A Documentary on Toronto Graffiti vs. Rob Ford

This is amazing, help support the making of this awesome film right here. We can't wait to check this out, and really, who voted for this guy? Does it not seem incredibly obvious that this is just fuel for the artists and constantly removing everything is just going to cost taxpayers more and more?

The artists aren't gonna stop Rob Ford, you dummy.

MDBP: Party of the Year

Next weekend marks the very first Mad Decent Block Party to take place in Canada.  Beginning in Philadelphia in 2008 and growing every year since, the parties showcase some Mad Decent artists and an amazing list of friends of the label.  Toronto's Yonge and Dundas Square plays host to the event on July 28th 2012. 1pm-11pm.

The best part is that all of these events are free.  Mad Decent teams up with Puma, Embrace, Teamwork, Scion, Redbull, and Pabst Blue Ribbon to name a few of the sponsors.  The only catch is that RSVP is mandatory and space is limited.  The parties are on a first come, first served basis.  Check out http://maddecentblockparty.com or go right here!

As for the lineups, they vary from city to city.  Toronto is the only one that has been announced in full so far and it looks incredible.  The Smalltown DJ's are some Calgary, Alberta heavyweights (soundcloud).  Toronto's own DJ Grandtheft is part of the Team Canada DJ's and a co founder of the Eh Team (soundcloud).  A Tribe Called Red hit the Polaris Music Prize 2012 long list with their amazing album that you can get FREE here.

Riton is the founder of Switch recordings, and was part of the duo Carte Blanche with the late DJ Mehdi (soundcloud).  Toronto's BadBadNotGood is a jazz hip hop fusion trio that has worked with Frank Ocean and Tyler the Creator (soundcloud).  Jacques Greene is a producer from Montreal who has released amazing music on LuckyMe and Night Slugs (soundcloud).

Nadastrom are a duo who among other acheivements have helped to pioneer the sound of moombahton (soundcloud).  Claude Von Stroke is the owner of the Dirtybird and Mothership labels (soundcloud). Who could forget Toronto and Mad Decent favourites Zed's Dead.
