Coming Soon: Kaiydo at the Velvet Underground

Kaiydo is definitely one of the most buzzworthy artists following SXSW.  The 19 year old made waves with the release of his track 'Fruit Punch', and it continues to rack up a seemingly endless amount of plays.  On top of the single he's got an independently released album coming later this year.  For now he's planning to embark on tour from Washington DC to Hollywood, California in April.  That tour includes a stop in Toronto on April 22nd at the Velvet Underground.

Preview: Danny Brown at the Phoenix 11/4

The new album from Danny Brown is so out there, that the irreverent Detroit MC decided to release it on Warp Records.  Where his previous releases 'XXX' and 'Old' came from Fool's Gold Records, after one listen to the new project this move will make perfect sense.  One thing that hasn't changed is the intensity of Danny Brown's live show.  He's bringing the 'Atrocity Exhibition' tour, along with special guests Maxo Kream and ZelooperZ to the Phoenix, one of Toronto's legendary venues...

Tickets are still available, but they sure won't last.  Get yours here and get your copy of 'Atrocity Exhibition' here!

PREVIEW: Open Mike Eagle at the Mod Club 9/14

Next week the Mod Club is hosting a show that is simply too good to be true.  This is the first chance for Toronto to see Open Mike Eagle perform music from his album 'Hella Personal Film Festival' with Paul White.  This show is also one of a handful with Open Mike Eagle opening for Gold Panda, a show that is pretty weird, and definitely wonderful.  'Hella Personal Film Festival' is one of our favourite albums of the year, and you can check our review here.  Gold Panda is touring in support of his newest album 'Good Luck and Do Your Best', get it here

The Mod Club is the perfect setting for a show like this.  Exactly where you'd expect to find a bill so unique.  Get your tickets here...
