VIDEO: Migos "Slippery" ft. Gucci Mane

"Slippery" comes from Migos' era defining, expectation defying album Culture.  For some the moment came when Donald Glover thanked them in winning a Golden Globe Award for his show Atlanta.  For many the rise to prominence started long ago.  "Slippery" might seem like a garden variety rap video, but considering the journey the Atlanta trio have been on it's a perfectly timed celebration with another hometown rap legend: Gucci Mane.

The celebration continues with the ultimate summer rap tour, Migos will be landing in Toronto at the Budweiser Stage.  One of the biggest venues in the city will be hosting one of the most vital new acts in music, along with favourites like Future, Tory Lanez, Zoey Dollaz and A$AP Ferg.  Culture is available here, and tickets for May 16th in Toronto are available here.  Check out the video for "Slippery" below.

Goapele Is On Tour! New Track "Power"!

We discovered Goapele's music more than ten years ago, around the release of her album Even Closer and her collaborations with MC's like Aceyalone and Hieroglyphics on the song "Make Your Move".  She followed Even Closer with Change It All and then more recently Break Of Dawn and Strong As Glass.  This spring she's on tour throughout the United States with a stop in Toronto on Monday at the Velvet Underground.  Take a listen to a few favourites below and see her live!

Coming Soon: Kaiydo at the Velvet Underground

Kaiydo is definitely one of the most buzzworthy artists following SXSW.  The 19 year old made waves with the release of his track 'Fruit Punch', and it continues to rack up a seemingly endless amount of plays.  On top of the single he's got an independently released album coming later this year.  For now he's planning to embark on tour from Washington DC to Hollywood, California in April.  That tour includes a stop in Toronto on April 22nd at the Velvet Underground.

Preview: Danny Brown at the Phoenix 11/4

The new album from Danny Brown is so out there, that the irreverent Detroit MC decided to release it on Warp Records.  Where his previous releases 'XXX' and 'Old' came from Fool's Gold Records, after one listen to the new project this move will make perfect sense.  One thing that hasn't changed is the intensity of Danny Brown's live show.  He's bringing the 'Atrocity Exhibition' tour, along with special guests Maxo Kream and ZelooperZ to the Phoenix, one of Toronto's legendary venues...

Tickets are still available, but they sure won't last.  Get yours here and get your copy of 'Atrocity Exhibition' here!
