HOWSLA is here!

This weekend the HOWSLA compilation was released.  It's the work of Skrillex and Chris Lake, and assembles a collection of noisy, energetic tracks that are emblematic of one of the most irreverent labels out there.  This wild compilation includes tracks by Skrillex and Chris Lake along with artists like Habstrakt, Dances With White Girls, Alex Metric, Tony Quattro and more.  In addition to this album the HOWSLA project includes events every other Sunday at Le Jardin in Los Angeles, as well as a clothing line in collaboration with OWSLA goods.  Listen to it below and get it here.

cln: "Breathe"

cln describes his new song to Billboard:

“’Breathe’ is a song inspired and conjured in the late-night quiet, and it captures that heavy tranquility in its simple, straightforward chords.”

The track is based around his own hearfelt vocals, artfully manipulated throughout the song into a nearly unrecognizable instrument.  "Breathe" came from an idea at 3 am, and in developing it into the full song the goal was to remain as true to that original, sleepy moment.  cln is the work of Callan Alexander, get "Breathe" here and click here to hear more!

Aryay & Kimbra: "Always Wanted You"

Aryay is back with his first track in a bit, "Always Wanted You" on OWSLA.  He's said that it's been 2 years in the works, and with special guest Kimbra on vocals that time was clearly invested well.  The 'lion sound' edges ever closer to perfection with each track Aryay releases following that booming debut "The Lawnmower".  Get "Always Wanted You" here!

Alex Metric: "Freeek" ft. Confessionals

HOWSLA is on the way on May 5th and we've got the second tune to be released for you right now.  Alex Metric teams up with Confessionals for "Freeek", as energetic and off the wall as we imagine this compilation will be.  HOWSLA is the work of OWSLA co-founder Skrillex and Chris Lake, and it was announced along with the track "I Want You" by Lake himself.  Check out "Freek" below and preorder the compilation here!

BASECAMP's Video for 'Hunter'

BASECAMP's new video for 'Hunter' features CG models of each member of the band, as well as the real thing.  The video is a reflection of the notion of perception vs. reality, but also seems to acknowledge the balance between humanity and technology in making music like this.  Either way 'Hunter' is a stunning work of art.  'Hunter' comes from the 'In Stone' EP and is available now on OWSLA.
