The Perceptionists: NPR Tiny Desk Concert

Mr. Lif and Akrobatik make music together under the name The Perceptionists.  They've just released Resolution, what might be their best album.  To celebrate they brought a live band to the NPR offices to perform in the Tiny Desk Concert Series.  They've come a long way in the 12 years since their last album, and the days of Definitive Jux.  This performance is a great way to get into some of the music on Resolution, and when you can't get enough you can listen to the whole album here.

L'Orange & Mr. Lif: 'A Palace In The Sky'

L'Orange and Mr. Lif have a new album on the way.  The release of 'The Life and Death of Scenery' is slated for October 14th.  If the few samples we've heard so far are any indication it's going to be an instant classic.  'A Palace In The Sky' will be released through a partnership between Mello Music Group and Adult Swim.  It will also feature the Daily Show's Wyatt Cenac as 'The Narrator'.  Listen to 'A Palace In The Sky' and preorder the album here!

Mr. Lif ft. Del: 'World Renown' (Dan The Automator Remix)

'World Renown' comes from Mr. Lif's first record in seven years.  'Don't Look Down' is both a return to form, and a brave new adventure.  He's joined on 'World Renown' by Del, and with this version the track gets flipped by another legend, Dan The Automator.  Somewhere between the opening piano and harmonica there's a solemnity to the track, something that gives the listener pause to really capture what these two have to say.  Get 'Don't Look Down' now.

Mr. Lif - World Renown (feat. Del The Funky Homosapien)

Mr. Lif and Del are a dream team. This gem from Lif's upcoming record is nothing short of exceptional, an instant classic.  If this came out when we were in high school it would be on every mixtape we could possibly make, but since it's 2016 we are just gonna click play 100 more times and share it with you good folks.

Mr. Lif - Whizdom (feat. Blacastan) [prod. Edan]

Boston rap superhero Mr. Lif is back with his new(est) record, and on this tune he raps over a gritty robotic beat from the one and only Edan. This is so on point, just like everything Mr. Lif does!
