Countdown: NYE at the Liberty Grand

Toronto, there simply is no other choice for where to spend New Year's Eve!  Lyme Productions, the Liberty Group, and Embrace have teamed up to bring you a party that cannot be rivalled.  It's incredible to see the magnitude of this event when such renowned event producers join forces.  There are more amazing artists on this bill than we can keep track of.  First and foremost is RL Grime, following up his album 'Void' that debuted at # 1 on Billboard's new artist chart.  He's developed his sound from his early trap remixes into something bold, and daring and inclusive of elements of all styles of music.

RL Grime will be joined by Newark, New Jersey's Nadus; a long time favourite artist for the Fingers on Blast crew who just this year released the incredible 'Broke City' EP on Pelican Fly.  Nadus is taking the Jersey club sound across the universe and we could not be happier to see him in our city as we welcome 2015.

In addition this amazing lineup includes Cyril Hahn, Bassjackers, Keys N Krates and a whole lot more.  Don't forget Borgeous and Shaun Frank are also appearing; check out their huge new track 'This Could Be Love'.  Get your tickets now, before they're gone!

Preview: Goapele live at The Hoxton 12/9

Tomorrow sees one of the most underrated and inspiring artists of our time performing in Toronto.  Goapele caught our attention with her appearance on the Hieroglyphics tracks 'Soweto' and 'Make Your Move' and her album 'Closer'.  She takes the stage tomorrow performing music from her newest album, the recently released 'Strong As Glass'.  The record was released in October, and features two powerful guest vocalists; Snoop Dogg on 'Hey Boy' and Eric Benet on 'My Love'.  The record shows the impeccable songwriting skill, and stunningly beautiful voice we've always loved, but possesses a vital energy that we've not heard from her before.

This makes the opportunity to see Goapele live all the more exciting, and well worth the wait.  Get your tickets here and get your copy of 'Strong as Glass' here!  Don't forget, this is an early show; the doors open at 7 pm!

"I imagine all of us realizing we are one world..." - Goapele.

Preview: Tinashe LIVE at Tattoo 12/13

One of the breakout artists of 2014 is about to appear in Toronto.  Tinashe (pronounced Tee-Nah-Shay) caught our attention when she appeared on Ryan Hemsworth's album 'Guilt Trips' on the song 'One For Me'.  The unforgettable song is also featured on her 'Black Water' mixtape, and was followed with the single '2 On' with Schoolboy Q.  The combination established her as a new artist with a unique sound, but what her debut album 'Aquarius' accomplished is something far greater.

The album was presented in such a way that she both strikes out in a way that gains a great deal of attention, but at the same time producing an project that is an extremely well rounded, complete listen from beginning to end.  'Bet' stands out as a song that is instantly well loved.  Tinashe teams with Devonté Hynes for a track that is both romantic and full of ambtion, and motivation.  The songs sounds like a twilight dedication to one's true purpose, and in that way it reflects her music and Tinashe in general.  She is the real thing.

A musician that truly loves what they're doing, and is inspired everyday both those that love the music is one that will be well loved by listeners.  In releasing the album, the possibility of preorders and early previews of tracks brought fans along for the ride, one that's not done yet.  The Aquarius tour brings the hits like 'Pretend' and '2 On' and cuts like 'Feels Like Vegas' to Tattoo in downtown Toronto, brought to you by the Substance Group, Ink, Flow 93.5 and Live Nation.  Get tickets here, and get the album here!
