Dilla & Common

DJ Jazzy Jeff Doing It For Dilla!

It's been ten years since we lost the legend J Dilla. Few artists are missed as much as Jay Dee, but his music stays as vibrant and alive as ever.

In this mix, another legend, DJ Jazzy Jeff plays a live set of almost 2 hours of Dilla related classics. Slum Village, The Roots, Common, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde and so many more. Your head won't stop nodding.

Slum Village: "Expressive" ft. BJ The Chicago Kid & Illa J

Guest vocalists Illa J and BJ The Chicago Kid give this song a feeling that resembles some classic Slum Village records.  That's not the only thing that lends the time travelling feel, it's a previously vaulted beat by J Dilla.  The track is one of a few that have recently emerged, and it's going to be on the new Slum Village full length "Yes!".  The album is out June 16th, preorder it now!

De La Soul x Dilla: 'Smell The D.A.I.S.Y.'

De La Soul opened the doors to their long unavailable catalog recently.  Along with the free music came the promise of two mixtapes with legendary producers, and a full length album.  We're happy to tell you that the first of the mixtapes is here.  'Smell the D.A.I.S.Y.' is De La's project with the late Jay Dilla.  The title stands for 'Da Inner Soul Of Dilla', and comes with an audio letter from the group about the project.  You can listen to the seamless mix below, and download it here, and watch out for De La Soul as they continue to bring new music to the world.
