Moses Sumney: 'Rank & File'

Moses Sumney brings you the new song 'Rank & File'.  It's a bit different from the music we fell in love with on Aromanticism.  It's the final track on Sumney's upcoming EP Black in Deep Red, 2014.  The track is named after a painting by Mark Rothko, and it's volatile and unpredictable.  The music weaves numerous voices together, along with minimal percussion creating a feeling of tension that is pervasive throughout the song.  The visual shows a toy soldier melting as the song progresses, a fitting visual for a song that expresses unrest in such a powerful way.  Listen to 'Rank & File' below, preorder Black in Deep Red, 2014 here and watch for it August 10th.

Gordi Performs 'In The End' by Linkin Park

Triple J has long been inviting artists to perform in their studio, and include a cover of one of their favourite songs.  The Australian radio station responsible for 'Like A Version' has included a lengthy list of artists including favourites like Lorde, Badbadnotgood, and Flume covering acts like Phil Collins, the Beach Boys, and even 'My Boo' by Ghosttown DJ's.  The possibilities for this series seem endless, and that's what makes this most recent release so stunning.  Fresh off the release of her album Reservoir, on Jagjaguwar she's appeared in the Triple J studio performing Linkin Park's infamous song 'In The End'.

This performance is Gordi's way of honouring the late Chester Bennington, singer of the band she loved so much growing up and to shed light on World Mental Health Day (October 10th).  Watch the stunning, emotional performance below, and get Reservoir here.

VIDEO: Gordi 'Heaven I Know'

Gordi has recently announced that her debut album Reservoir is coming soon on Jagjaguwar.  Her debut album arrives August 25th, thanks to a label synonymous with irreverent creativity and releasing some of the most brilliant music of our time.  Gordi is no different in that regard, and yet 'Heaven I Know' possesses a raw vulnerability that is rare, powerful and at times shocking.  It's hard to take your eyes off this video, and the song will stick with you long after it's over.  Our predicition is that Reservoir will be well worth waiting for, and will bring Gordi's music to the world at large...
