New super disco funk jam from THUNDERCAT

This guy is already a legend, making some of the best, most soulful and fun music in the last while.  Always paying homage to the trailblazers while coming with a fresh, unique sound.  Huge respect to Brainfeeder artist Thundercat, and we agree with Flying Lotus, this is the tune of the summer.

Dam Funk & Master Blazter cover Zapp's "More Bounce To The Ounce"

West Coast funk heavyweight Dam Funk just released this seriously dope cover of the classic from Zapp "More Bounce To The Ounce" with Master Blazter.  You're gonna love it.  RIP to Master Blazter's drummer, Jovan Coleman aka J-1.

Classic of the day: Lonnie Liston Smith & The Cosmic Echoes - Expansions

Incredible soulful funk jam from super musician Lonnie Liston Smith and his band The Cosmic Echoes.  This one came out on the album Expansions on Flying Dutchman in 1974.  This definitely fell under the jazz funk subgenre and once you click play you'll see why.  Lonnie left the Miles Davis band that he was a part of to start a solo career, and this was known as his stand out album, and we will love it forever.  Enjoy.

Classic of The Day: Marvin Gaye - T Plays It Cool

One of our favorite funky beats since forever, this one does not actually feature the vocals of the legendary Marvin Gaye. He actually composed the entire soundtrack for the film "Trouble Man" which his label Motown had secured the rights to in 1972.  We honestly don't know a ton more about this particular jam, if you do, let us know.  We're interested.  Enjoy.
