Join DJ Shadow as he shows the place he found so many of the sounds that made up the album 'Endtroducing'. Shadow's approach is quite different from that of the average person who dj's today. He emphasizes the patience required to approach music this way, and also gives some very sound advice to musicians who think they're invincible. Watch closely, and if you want to see more check out Scratch by Doug Pray. It's an incredible documentary that looks at world of turntablism, and some of its innovators. If you've missed it up until now, make sure you watch INFAMY, an incredibly well made graffiti documentary following 8 artists through their stories, their process, and their roadblocks. Some of the artists are huge favorites of ours, like Saber, Earsnot and Enem!
Seriously, everyone will love this, make sure you watch.

Monday, January 16, 2012 at 7:27AM Doug Pray is a documentary filmmaker. He has a number of Director, editor, and writer credits. Pray seems to choose subject matter that looks closely at elements of our culture that aren't so widely known.
Doug Pray has investigated the world of advertising in Art & Copy, djing and turntablism in Scratch, grunge rock in Hype! and long haul truckers in Big Rig just to name a few. Click on the posters to check out the films and click here to check out Doug Pray on IMDB.
Pray seems to have a comforting, almost disarming effect on the people he interviews. Whether it's a veteran advertising executive, an innovative hip hop dj, or anyone in between; people seem to want to tell Doug Pray their story.
Doug Pray has also worked on numerous tv ads that follow a similar style as his films. He won an Emmy award in 2006 for an advocacy campaign for HIV-AIDS awareness. Have a look at the trailer for Surfwise, and be on the look out for The Aerialist, Pray's newest film which is awaiting release.
