Classic of the day: Eminem & Royce da 5'9" (Bad Meets Evil) - Scary Movies

This gem of a tune came out in 1999, and it's been a banger since.  The beat is nothing short of infectious, and the rap combo of Royce and Slim Shady is simply incredible.  This has always been one of our favorite Eminem tracks and it will likely continue to be.  It was also on the Scary Movie soundtrack, which makes sense.

Black Milk - "Computer Ugly Ugly / Why Worry" Stream now!

Check out some new music from the always prolific beatsmith from Detroit, the one and only Black Milk.  You will not be disappointed.  This guy is a legend.
He's also got some extra dope artwork from Upendo “Pen” Taylor on the release, pretty exciting stuff.

Classic of the day: Dramatics - What You See Is What You Get

Damn.  We came across this jam in the old Boogie Brats bboy video, and dug for it for a couple of years before we realized we already had it in the collection.  Truly a masterpiece of a gem of a funky soulful tune.  Be sure to scour your local used record store for a copy for yourself. It's well worth it.
The Dramatics were a group that released songs they recorded in Detroit, but didn't really achieve much acclaim until this dropped in 1971, when it hit the Billboard Top 100 and rose to #9.  They also sang on "Doggy Dogg World" from Snoop Dogg's album Doggystyle in 1993.  Read some more about them here.

Photo of the Day: The Packard Plant in Detroit

Here's the story of how The Packard Plant ended up like this:

The plant is one of the biggest abandoned structures in Detroit.  Built in 1903 and converted into an industrial complex in the 1950s, and then once again closed in the 90s.  Since then it has been looted beyond recognition, filled with broken glass and damaged empty frames of the building, frequently fires are set that no one puts out.  Due to the structural damage, the fire department cannot legally enter the building.
