Dave Nada! The Master of Moombahton is BACK!

Not that he ever left, but the man himself is back on a strictly moombah tour, with proceeds from each show going to a well deserving local charity.

We had the good fortune of interviewing Dave a few years ago in Toronto. As one half of Nadastrom and on his own, he has been one of our favorite DJs and producers for a lot of years - and if you're one of those people who think seeing a DJ live is boring, go see Dave Nada, and let him prove you wrong.

Happy Birthday to one half of Nadastrom (with Matt Nordstrom), an innovator in the world of music, and one of the most contagiously enthusiastic performers.

Happy Birthday Moombahton!

Silvio Ecomo & DJ Chuckie - Moombah (Dave Nada Remix) by Mad Decent

Moombahton has just turned three, and we'd like nothing more than for you to join us in the celebration.  We've got one of the first tracks, Dave Nada's 'Moombah' edit for you to trace the genre back to it's beginning.  We've also brought out the Nadastrom remix of Drop the Lime's 'Bandit Blues' and Boyfriend's 'Vodka House'.  Our selections follow some of the genre's innovators from it's inception, to it's current state with tons of remixes, and amazing artists taking the sound in new directions.

Drop The Lime - "Bandit Blues" (Nadastrom Remix) by Nadastrom

Drop the Lime's rockabilly style dance tunes may not initally seem like the sort of thing that would lend to this style.  In the hands of skilled producers it appears any style of music can lean towards moombahton.  We've heard tracks with hip hop, soul, funk, rock, and every genre beyond as influences and don't anticipate that stopping any time soon.

Boyfriend - Vodka House [Out on DIABLUMA SOUND - 09.25] by BOYFRIEND

Then you have the new artists like Boyfriend who have gotten deep into this sound and added their own personal touch.  We're big fans of a few acts that we've heard of since moombahton started.  People like King Kong, Dirty Audio,  and gLAdiator, have all made their mark on the genre and many more keep doing the same everyday.  It's also drawn prominent artists like Jack Beats into the style, just check out their collaboration with Dillon Francis.
