Closed Sessions ft. Open Mike Eagle: 'Whiskey and Push-Ups'

Chicago label Closed Sessions are preparing to release their third compilation in conjunction with their 10th anniversary.  They've delivered a single, and a documentary short to kick things off featuring Open Mike Eagle in collaboration with Boat House.  This insightful project shows Open Mike Eagle's writing and recording process, as well as Boat House's approach to collaborating with other artists.  Boat House also produces the rest of the compilation as well.

The full list of performers has yet to be released, but it features Kemba, Kipp Stone, Mother Nature, ShowYouSuck, Khary, Dave B.  Watch the documentary, and then take a listen to 'Whiskey and Push-Ups'.

Whitney's New Song 'Giving Up'

Earlier today the Chicago band Whitney announced their upcoming follow up to Light Upon the Lake.  Their 2016 debut established the band as a unique new sound.  Forever Turned Around is the new album and 'Giving Up' is the lead single.  While it's evocative of evolution both personal and musical, it also delivers that sound we've grown to love from Whitney.  You can listen to the single below, preoder the album here and watch for it August 30th.

The O'My's ft. Chance The Rapper: 'Idea'

'Idea' is the new single and video from the Chicago soul group the O'My's.  They're joined in collaboration by the hometown legend Chance the Rapper, and it's a truly compelling track.  The video is shot in black and white, set on a rainy night in Chicago where the duo of Maceo Haymes and Nick Hennessey perform the song in an alley only to be joined by Chance for the finale.  'Idea' is directed by Jason Peterson and comes from the album Tomorrow.  It's out now, and you can get it here.  Make sure you check out 'Idea' below.
