In January of 1969 James Brown released his single 'Give It Up Or A Turnit Loose'. It hit # 1 on the Billboard R & B charts, and was later rerecorded and rereleased more than once. The original was recorded with the James Brown Orchestra and the 1970 version on the album Sex Machine was recorded wtih the J.B.'s.
