Vic Mensa: 'We Could Be Free'

Vic Mensa unveils his video for the thoughtful track 'We Could Be Free' with Ty Dolla $ign.  With this one Vic Mensa defies some of the conventions of hip hop, and makes this one more in line with the history of protest songs.  Within the lyrics Mensa looks at his own thought processes, as well as those in other people.  He examines where we get the sense of division, and how powerfully it can be countered by the notion of unity.  The clip ends with an emotionally poignant scene, as Vic Mensa stands at the front of a crowd of people who grow to reflect the world as seen by a young person in a work of art.  This piece both symbolically and literally shows both the pain of our world and the great hope that each of us possess.

Bless you Vic Mensa.
