UHF Sells buried treasure

This is UHF records in Royal Oak, Michigan.  Looks like a nice spot to spend an afternoon digging for treasure doesn't it?  Like a place to check out on a Record Store Day like this past Saturday.  The Detroit News reported that there is a newly acquired vinyl collection of about 8000 records at the shop.  The items were purchased at an abandoned storage auction in Clinton Township.

While some remain skeptical that the items actually belonged to legendary Detroit producer Jay Dilla, there is some information that makes it seem true.  The storage unit included lyrics, song books, and even junk mail addressed to James Yancey.  It seems that UHF will see an increase in business over the next while, as collector flock in search of something amazing.

UHF has made attempts to contact Yancey's family to arrange for some proceeds to be donated to the J Dilla Foundation.
